        Books I've read in 2022

Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgen
A love story about a woman who buys a van and turns it into a bookmobile. Plus it's set in Scotland!

Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah
A story of loss and love, mystery, bird research, plenty of plot twists.

The Book of Lost Friends by Lisa Wingate
Historical fiction – young women trying to find their enslaved family members post Civil War; and present day connections. The history is heartbreaking, but you can't put it down.

The Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier
Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer and his inspiration for his famous portrait. 16Th - 17th Century era

The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Murray
The story of Belle da Costa Green, JP Morgan's personal librarian, her rise to power in the New York art and antiquity world, and how her background is a big part of the story. Really enjoyed learning her story!

The Bookseller's Secret by Michelle Gable
1942 WWII historical fiction set around a book shop, spies and Nancy Mitford; and the modern-day hunt for a lost manuscript.

Where the Crawdad's Sing by Delia Owens
Murder mystery, the story of marsh life and it's beautiful birds/creatures, coming of age story...loved it!

The Night Portrait by Laura Morelli
Dual timeline story following Leonardo da Vinci as he is commissioned to create his famous portrait when he'd rather be inventing machinery; and, the WWII timeline saving the famous portrait from the Nazis

Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano
A young boy is the sole survivor of a plane crash. His journey to adjust to his new normal and the stories of the people who were on the plane with him. Emotional, but worth it!

Killers of the Flower Moon – David Grann
The Osage Indian murders in Oklahoma and the birth of the FBI...I can't believe all this really happened.

The Searcher by Tana French
Retired Chicago detective moves to rural Ireland for peace and quiet but is convinced to put his old skills to work to solve a local missing case. Not my typical book, but an easy to read mystery.

Look to Love by JL Gerhardt
A better way to read the Bible, always looking for God's love. I enjoy all her books.

Moloka'i by Alan Brennert
Hawaii, late 1800s through mid 1900s, during the leprosy outbreak. The story of Rachel and her life on Moloka'i. Her courage and resilience make this book a wonderful read. What a time they had to endure separated from their families.
